Part I: The Operational Foundation – Availability, Identity, and Experience
1. Is our specific date available, and are you the specific photographer who will be shooting it?
Our website has an availability checker. You can put your address there and see if we are available for your wedding or not. When you reserve your date with us, you are securing Marcos and Elba—the award-winning husband-and-wife team—to personally capture your story.
2. Do you book other events on the same day?
No. We believe your legacy deserves our undivided attention. We only commit to one wedding per day to ensure we are fully present for your entire celebration.
3. How far in advance do we need to secure the date?
Because we only accept a limited number of commissions each year to maintain our high standard of the experience, we recommend reaching out as soon as you have your venue. Dates are officially reserved once a contract is signed and the retainer is received. Some of our dates are reserved a year and a half in advance so don’t delay.
4. What is the backup plan if you are unable to shoot my wedding due to an emergency?
In the 25+ years we have been capturing weddings, we have never missed a wedding, but in the very unlikely event of a true emergency, we are two photographers, so at least one will be there. If that’s not possible, we maintain a trusted network of high-end professional photographers whose style and values align with our own to ensure your day is covered seamlessly.
5. How many years have you been photographing weddings specifically?
We have been dedicated to the art of wedding photography for over two decades, since 1999.
6. How many weddings have you shot as the lead photographer?
With over 20 years of full-time experience, we have led the artistic curation of well over 1,000 weddings, giving us a unique understanding of the flow and importance of your wedding day.
7. Have you photographed weddings similar in size and style to ours?
Yes. We specialize in serving discerning couples who value artistry and legacy, frequently capturing large-scale luxury events and intimate celebrations alike.
8. Have you worked at our specific venue before?
We have extensive experience at premier regional venues like Hotel Paso Del Norte, The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park and Grace Gardens. If your venue is new to us, we perform diligent research and site visits to ensure we capture the best possible imagery.
Part II: The Technical Infrastructure – Gear, Backup, and Risk Management
9. What type of equipment do you use, and do you have backup gear on site?
We use professional-grade Canon cameras and premium lenses. We always bring multiple backup bodies, lenses, and lighting kits to every event to ensure we are prepared for any situation.
10. Do your cameras have dual card slots, and do you write to both simultaneously?
Absolutely. Our cameras record every moment to two separate memory cards simultaneously, providing instant redundancy the moment a memory is captured.
11. Do you have experience and equipment for low-light or difficult lighting situations?
Yes. Marcos is a master of light, and we utilize sophisticated lighting techniques to ensure your reception and evening imagery are as vibrant and clear as your daytime portraits.
12. What is your backup workflow after the wedding?
We employ a rigorous triple-backup system: dual in-camera cards, multiple physical hard drives, and secure off-site cloud storage to ensure your memories are protected.
13. How long do you retain the RAW files and final images?
We do not delete images, but we recommend you also backup your memories in multiple places, online and off, because hard drives do fail. We guarantee your gallery for two years.
14. What do you do to mitigate the loss of files?
Beyond our redundant hardware, we maintain a strict "ingestion" protocol where imagery is never cleared from memory cards until multiple verified backups exist on separate drives and in the cloud.
Part III: The Aesthetic Audit – Style, Format, and Deliverables
15. How would you describe your photography and artistic curation style?
We describe our style as "Wedding Photojournalism with a touch of Pizzazz." It is a vibrant, true-to-life, and timeless approach that captures authentic emotion with an editorial, high-end finish. We employ different styles throughout the day to capture your wedding the best way possible, from photojournalism to fashion style photography to product photography to capture every detail and emotion of the day.
16. Can we see full galleries of recent weddings, not just a highlight reel?
We would be honored to show you. We believe a true professional should demonstrate consistency from the first look to the final dance. You can view many real weddings on our Gallery and Blog that show moments throughout the day of real weddings. When you visit us in our office, we will show you even more complete weddings.
17. Is the work in your portfolio all yours, or does it include second shooter images or styled shoots?
Every image in our portfolio represents our actual work with real couples. We do not rely on styled shoots or associate work to represent our brand.
18. How many final images should we expect to receive?
We focus on quality and storytelling. While every wedding is unique, we provide a comprehensive collection that tells the full, beautiful story of your day. We do not have a limit on the amount of images we capture, but the actual amount varies per wedding. I’d say the range is somewhere between 600 - 2000.
19. Do you provide the RAW files?
No. Our artistic curation is an essential part of the experience you are investing in. We deliver a finished, polished, and museum-quality product that represents our signature style.
20. Are the images watermarked?
Your final digital imagery is delivered in high resolution without watermarks for your personal use.
21. Do we receive print rights?
Yes. Every collection includes a print release, allowing you to create your own prints for personal use.
Part IV: Logistics and the Wedding Day Experience
22. Will you have a second shooter, and is that included in the collection?
Yes. Our "dual-vision" approach features both Marcos and Elba, ensuring we capture two perspectives of every fleeting moment.
23. If I hire a second shooter, is it someone you work with regularly or a freelancer?
You are hiring a dedicated husband-and-wife team. We have worked together since the beginning, allowing us to anticipate each other's moves and work in perfect harmony.
24. Do you work with an assistant (non-shooting)?
Elba serves as our Creative Director and posing coach, providing the gentle direction and support you need to feel comfortable, while Marcos focuses on technical precision.
25. Do you help create the photography timeline?
Yes. We view our relationship as a partnership. We use our 20+ years of experience to help you design a timeline that maximizes your imagery while keeping your day stress-free.
26. How much time do we need for family formals and couple portraits?
During our planning conversation, we will help you allocate the perfect amount of time for each segment so you never feel rushed or away from your guests for too long.
27. How do you handle family formal chaos and difficult family dynamics?
We are expert guides. We handle family formals with efficiency, kindness, and a firm organization that keeps the mood light and the process quick.
28. What is your dress code for the wedding?
We dress in professional, dark-toned attire to blend in seamlessly with your guests. If your wedding has a specific attire style (for example boots and jeans), let us know and we will adapt our outfits.
29. How do you handle meals and breaks?
Since we are with you all day, we request a vendor meal to be served at the same time as the couple's meal so we are ready to move when you are. If you will not be providing us a meal, that is ok, we will take a 1-hour break to leave and find something to eat.
30. What is your policy on drinking or smoking during the event?
We maintain a strictly professional environment and do not consume alcohol during your event. We do not smoke.
Part V: The Financial Investment and Contractual Terms
31. What exactly is included in the collection?
Our collections are tailored to provide a complete storytelling experience, typically at least including all-day coverage, two photographers, digital files, an engagement session, and handcrafted heirloom albums.
32. Are there any travel fees or hidden costs?
We are transparent with our investment rates. We are available for travel worldwide and will discuss any logistical needs during our initial conversation. We provide custom quotes for travel fees for all weddings and engagement sessions outside El Paso or Las Cruces.
33. What is the investment for overtime if the reception runs late?
Our "All Day" philosophy means we are there to tell the whole story. We don't believe in watching the clock on your most important day. Any hours after midnight are included at an investment of $425/hr.
34. How does the payment schedule work?
We utilize a secure, streamlined online system for all contracts and payments. You will receive email reminders of payments that you can pay online. A $1,000 retainer is due when you reserve your date, then 50% of the balance is due 3 months before the wedding. The last 50% is due 1 month before the wedding date.
35. Is the retainer refundable?
The retainer serves to reserve your date exclusively on our calendar and is non-refundable, as we turn down all other inquiries for that date once you have secured it.
36. Do you accept payment plans?
The payments are spread out before the wedding and balance is due 1 month before the wedding. We accept all forms of payments including credit cards.
Part VI: Legal Rights and Protections
37. Who owns the copyright to the images?
The photographer retains copyright while the couple receives a personal usage license. This means the couple can use the memories any way they want for personal use.
38. Will you use our legacy for your marketing/social media?
We love sharing the beautiful stories we capture. If you have privacy concerns, please let us know during our conversation so we can respect your wishes.
39. Can we request an NDA or privacy if we don't want our legacy online?
Yes, we respect your privacy. If you don’t want your images online, we will not put them there.
40. Does the contract include a force majeure clause?
Yes. Our contracts include protections for both parties in the event of unforeseen "Acts of God."
41. What is the cancellation policy?
Our contract details the specific steps and timelines for cancellations or rescheduling to ensure everyone's investment is handled fairly. The couple may cancel this contract prior to the Wedding Day, thereby forfeiting all retainers paid, by written notice to us. If the couple changes the wedding date to another day in which we are available, there will be a $100 fee added to the balance. Subsequent date changes will result in a $250 fee. If we are not available for the new wedding date, the couple forfeits all retainers paid.
Part VII: Post-Production and Future-Proofing
42. What is the estimated delivery time for the final gallery?
Your full, curated digital gallery will be delivered within 2 to 4 weeks of your wedding day.
43. Do we get "sneak peeks" shortly after the wedding?
Yes! We provide a curated "Sneak Peek" gallery the week following the wedding so you can relive the joy and share it with your loved ones immediately.
44. Do you use AI for culling or artistic curation?
Every image in your collection is meticulously hand-curated by Marcos and Elba to ensure it meets our signature artistic standards. We do not use AI for culling or editing.
45. What is your policy on retouching?
Our artistic curation includes standard blemish removal and color correction. Extensive digital alterations may be subject to additional investment.
Part VIII: Modern Social Dynamics
46. How do you feel about an "unplugged" ceremony?
We fully support unplugged ceremonies. It allows your guests to be truly present and ensures we have a clear line of sight to capture your most important moments. We do however allow and encourage your guests to take as many memories and videos throughout the day.
47. How do you handle guests taking memories with phones?
We are always polite and professional with your guests. While we encourage them to enjoy the moment, we will gently ensure they don't interfere with the professional legacy you've invested in.
48. Are you comfortable working alongside a "Wedding Content Creator"?
We offer our own Hybrid Video Coverage, which provides a cinematic retelling of your day. We are happy to coordinate with other professionals to ensure your experience remains seamless.
49. How do you coordinate with the videographer?
We view the vendor team as a partnership. We coordinate closely with your videographer to ensure we both have the space and timing needed to capture your memories perfectly.
50. Is an engagement session included, and why do you recommend it?
Most of our collections include an engagement session. It serves as a vital "rehearsal," allowing us to build a connection and helping you feel completely natural in front of the lens before the big day.
